Effective Branch Management Certificate Program
From August 20, 2007 at Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar
The Branch Manager of any bank or non-banking financial institution is the key person who practically operates as Chief Executive Officer of this relatively small organization. Although their powers and responsibilities are limited, yet they have to deal in multi-dimensional fields, take crucial decisions and are also accountable for the results. Some time back, the IBP Council, headed by Governor, State Bank of Pakistan, desired us to design a focused and high value Certificate Course for the branch managers enabling them to develop their knowledge, skills and attitude for the benefit of their organization and industry as a whole. In line with this decision a broad course outline was developed by IBP and was circulated among all stakeholders for their views and suggestions. This generated an overwhelmingly positive response from the industry.
The program was offered simultaneously at four centres – Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. So far four cycles of this program have been completed. They were attended by 430 managers of 22 different banks. Based on our experience and the feedback received from the banks, resource persons, co-ordinators and participants, we are launching the fifth program from August 20, 2007. It has been completely revamped and will be held simultaneously at Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. The key features of this program are summarized on the attached sheet. At the end of the program certificates will be issued to the participants who will have:
i) Attended atleast 75% sessions
ii) Appeared in two hourly tests and comprehensive test at the end of the program
iii) Submitted Business Plan of their branch/department as per guidelines which will be provided to them.
iv) Obtained overall at least 50% marks in the tests and business plan
We have pleasure in inviting nominations from your bank for participation in this high value program at all the four stations mentioned above. It would be appreciable if the nominations are made from amongst those of the Branch Managers or potential Branch Managers who are comparatively young and have adequate years of service left to transfer the benefits of training to the bank. The fee for participation in each course is Rs 25,000/- per participant.
