IBP Overseas Scholarship

 

The Council of the Institute in its meeting of September 17, 2003 decided to sponsor a young promising banker from amongst top 10 bankers qualifying IBP Banking Examination for their overseas study/training in the field of Banking and/or related subjects. Initially scholarship amount was Rs 1 million, which has been recently revised upward to Rs 1.5 million per scholarship. Two candidates selected in previous years are studying in prestigious Universities of United Kingdom and are expected to complete their studies during this year for joining their respective organizations. The names and other details of these two scholars are as under:

 

1)      Mr. Tahir Javed of United Bank Limited.

      He is studying in University of Leeds under M.Sc. Banking & Finance program.

 

2)      Mr. Nizamuddin Arshad of State Bank of Pakistan.

He is currently doing his M.Sc. in Management & Regulation of Risks at London School of Economics.

 

Recently the high powered Scholarship Committee interviewed 15 top performers of DAIBP/ISQ examination conducted during 2005 and 2006. The Scholarship Committee selected following two scholars for the year 2005 and 2006:

 

1)      Mr. Babar Ali S/o Mr. Karam Ali, Officer, State Bank of Pakistan, Karachi (Year-2005).

 

2)      Mr. Wasim Ahmad S/o Mr. Munir Ahmad, Manager Credit, National Bank of Pakistan, Lahore (Year-2006).

 

We would like to congratulate the selected scholars and hope that they would be securing admission at the prestigious educational institutions and join their programs as soon as possible.
